Jaelyn Chung, a recent graduate here at Tesoro High School, plans to attend the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) to further her studies with a major in political science and a minor in business economics.

Chung is beyond excited to attend this university, and notes that she chose UCLA due to its prestigious mock trial and pre-law track, along with its overall prestige as the top public university in the United States.

Chung describes her highschool career as difficult yet rewarding, noting some of her favorite memories as being Ms. Nolte’s teacher aid, senior sunrise and having Mr. Pulido in her language class junior year. Reminiscing on her high school experience, Chung recounts all the growth she’s experienced as both a student and an individual, allowing her to reach her goals of attending a prestigious university.

As her freshman year approaches, Chung notes her anticipation for her time at UCLA:  “I’m eager to explore the city’s social and culinary scenery, hopefully get involved in the Daily Bruin Newspaper and the Bruin Student Government, and I’m excited to explore research topics related to our political climate.”

As Chung makes her lasting impressions on Tesoro, she encourages rising seniors to “soak up every last moment”, noting that the time does truly fly by in an instant. Chung expresses her immense excitement for the future and can’t wait to see what the future holds for her at UCLA.
