The Titans have wrapped up the 2025 football season—a year filled with highs, lows. Here’s how each game unfolded.
Tesoro opened the season strong at El Toro, scoring 10 unanswered points in the first quarter and extending the lead to 24–0 by the fourth. After rotating in the depth chart, the Titans allowed two late touchdowns but still secured a solid 24–14 win to start 1–0.
Tesoro’s second straight road game came at San Marcos. The Knights scored on the opening drive and added 31 more points in the first half, quickly putting the Titans in a deep hole. Tesoro couldn’t recover, falling 14–45.
On Senior Night, Tesoro hosted La Mirada. The Matadores opened with a long drive ending in a field goal and later added a safety. Tesoro responded with a touchdown before halftime, then added another touchdown and a safety of their own. In a defensive battle, the Titans pulled out a 17–5 win in their home opener.
Tesoro then headed to Laguna Beach. The Titans led 15–14 after a competitive first three quarters before the Breakers took control. Two Titan interceptions and several long touchdown passes fueled 22 straight Laguna points, resulting in a 15–36 loss.
The Dolphins of Dana Hills entered Titan Stadium to a camouflaged crowd. The Titan defense struggled as Dana Hills put up 47 points. Tesoro kept it within reach early, trailing by just 11 at halftime, but ultimately fell 15–47. They entered the bye week at 2–3.
Tesoro entered league play with their Homecoming game against Newport Harbor. After trailing early, Tesoro pulled ahead in the third quarter with a touchdown. Newport answered with a score of their own late in the third, making it 10–14. Needing a spark, Tesoro ran in a go-ahead touchdown with eight minutes left. The Sailors had two late chances and couldn’t convert either fourth down, sending the players and sold-out student section into chaos. Titans win 17–14.
Western Out at Tesoro marked their third consecutive home game. Their opponent was Villa Park. The Titans hung around for most of the matchup, entering halftime down by four. But three second-half interceptions allowed the Spartans to pull away, leading to a 24–42 loss.
Tesoro traveled to Yorba Linda to play the eventual league champions. It wasn’t pretty. The Mustangs scored on every possession of the first half; the Titans scored on none. On the bright side, Tesoro won the second half 14–7 but lost 14–42. This made Tesoro’s fifth loss.
A decked-out pink student section welcomed the Sea Kings of Corona del Mar for Tesoro’s last home game of the season. The Titans started hot, driving the field and getting an early interception that turned into an eight-point lead. CDM’s undefeated record showed after that, as the game ended 8–47.
The Titans entered the badlands with the chance to take back the bell. Although they lost the first half, they held San Juan to a scoreless second half, outscoring them by seven points.
Tesoro should be proud as their players are mainly home grown as San Juan goes out and recruits many players from outside their boundaries. This caused them to be caught and rightfully labeled cheaters.
The Stallions had to forfeit nine of their games but were somehow rewarded by being ranked the four seed in division 2 giving them a home game in their first round of CIF.
Tesoro continually displays their values of Wisdom, Strength, and Honor in their athletics.
This marked Tesoro’s second and final season in the Bravo league after the destruction of the former South Coast League.
Due to Tesoro’s 1-9 record in league play over the last two seasons and with new equity-based leagues, the Titans will drop into the Delta league for next season.
This is the 4th highest league in Orange County and consists of Trabuco Hills, Capistrano Valley, El Modena, Western, and Crean Lutheran.
I was fortunate enough to watch every game this season and although they ended with a 3-7 record, they had many entertaining games and exciting moments to watch and always had me engaged. They should be very proud of what they did on the field.
Tesoro looks to regroup this offseason and build up to compete and hopefully win the Delta League next year.
