Top 5 Places To Sit On Santa’s Lap in Orange County

Updated: Feb 21, 2022

With Christmas making its way into the community, we present a comprehensive guide to the top places to have a seat with Father Christmas in Orange County for the 2021 holidays.

5. Irvine Park

Santa is waiting for you in Santa’s Village, which has moved from the North Pole to Irvine because of COVID. His elves were laid off but that isn’t stopping Santa from bringing the holiday cheer! You can ride in a train, make cookies, and even sip hot chocolate while you wait for your chance to sit in Santa’s lap.

Rating: 6/10

4. Knotts Berry Farm

This popular amusement park gets into the holiday spirit with a Peanuts-styled theme. You will get to meet Charlie Brown, Peppermint Patty, Linus, and best of all… Santa!!! In Knott’s Merry Farm, you can find Santa at Santa’s Christmas Cabin in the Wilderness Dance Hall. Although, there is usually a very long wait due to the large number of Santa lap enthusiasts traveling there.

3. Mission Viejo Mall

The local mall offers a festive atmosphere and amazing decorations with the highlight being a large Christmas tree. If you dance around this Christmas tree, you can find the man, the myth, the legend himself, Derryl, who manages the line to get to Santa. Once you find Santa, the overall experience is heightened tenfold; however, some elves there have been known to get a little wild.

2. Disneyland

There is no Derryl here but at this iconic vacation spot, Santa can be found at not only 1, but 5 different locations throughout the park and resort! If you really focus, you can actually visit all of the locations in one day and see him at each one. With his holiday spirit, Santa is able to be in all locations at once and you can experience each one with the help of the magical Disneyland App.

1. Tesoro High School

With finals week here, students are feeling the pressure . Recently, Mr. and Mrs. Claus made an appearance at our very own school. They drove around campus waving in all their cheer. Santa even took the time to give some kids the chance to sit on his lap. No better place to see Kris Kringle than at Tesoro.

Rating: 10/10 Candy Canes

Whether it's experiencing Derryl for the first time or spotting Santa on campus, we at the Titan Tribune hope this guide helped your choice.

Happy Holidays Titans!
