Tesoro’s Varsity Boys Soccer Makes CIF for the 3rd Year in a Row

Our Boys Varsity Soccer team had great success this season, placing second in league play with a record of 3-4-2. The competitors in the Sea View league are the Trabuco Hills Mustangs, Aliso Niguel Wolverines, and the Dana Hills Dolphins. Led by captains Shan Perera and Grant Miller, the Titans made the CIF playoffs for the third year in a row and the 12th time in school history. Tesoro starts a solid lineup and keeps a deep bench. Starting in the back, goalkeepers Yahir Canaogo and Dominic Difrenna earned three shutouts this season. Stacked on defense, Ewan Cooper, Jack Leydon, Dominic Marquez, Shan Perera, Manny Ruvalcaba, Aiden Trojak, and Dominic Valentin all handle the ball efficiently with skill and composure.

Controlling the middle of the field, Remy Barazin, Matteo Bardales, Lucas Camargo, John Ivanov, Landon Coy, and AJ Zadravecz play as midfielders. Creative and driven up top, Mateo Bonet, Martin Fabatia, Lance Guererro, Grant Miller, Keven Peterson, and Grant King score the goals that win the games.

Supporting and pushing each other to their limits, these boys earned their high placement in league and a spot in CIF playoffs.

The 2021-2022 boys soccer team consisted of 21 players, along with Coach Skaff and Coach Schofield. Coach Skaff has coached the boys Varsity team for 20 years, ever since the school opened in 2001. Coach Scofield has been involved with Tesoro for many years, coaching in both the boys and girls soccer programs.

Our Titans suffered a tough loss to Cathedral for an early CIF exit. This team played with heart, and their effort was evident on the pitch.
